Taipei, Taiwan, May 4, 2020 – Lanner Electronics, the leading network hardware provider of enterprise network security, uCPE, SD-WAN, MEC and Intelligent Edge appliances, today announced the NCA-1515 uCPE appliance’s support for the latest Wi-Fi 6 standard; with the improved capacity, coverage and performance empowered by Wi-Fi 6, this solution can operate in concurrent dual-band 2.4GHz/5GHz frequencies, ensuring the superior data transmission performance that outclasses what other competitors in the same trade claim to offer.
Wi-Fi 6, also known as IEEE 802.11ax, is the newest Wi-Fi specification standard, the successor to Wi-Fi 5 (IEEE 802.11ac). It promises greater speeds, advanced connectivity, as well as increased capacity with lower latency to simultaneously support multiple users and more high-bandwidth devices. Moreover, it operates in the 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequency bands concurrently. This standard provides a seamless experience for clients and enables next-generation applications such as 4K/8K streaming, AR/VR video, and more device and IoT capacity for high-density environments like university lecture halls, malls, stadiums, and manufacturing facilities.
The NCA-1515, a desktop network appliance powered by Intel® Atom® C3000 (codenamed Denverton) CPU, features robust performance and Intel’s QuickAssist technology, offering cryptographic acceleration and commercial-grade LAN functions in a 231mm x 200mm x 44mm (WxDxH) form factor. In order to deliver the next-era connectivity to our customers, NCA-1515 comes with the M.2 B key slot to accommodate Wi-Fi 6 modules, fully compatible with several Lanner pre-validated third-party Wi-Fi 6 M.2 cards upon customer’s choice.
NCA-1515 is now available for sample requests from first-tier telecom customers, with several samples already delivered to certain US leading telecommunication partners for joint-field Wi-Fi 6 interoperability tests.
In the next stage, Lanner will embark on a series of Wi-Fi 6 interoperability tests on Lanner products, the first being 1U network appliance NCA-4020, followed by the PCIe expansion module NCS2-MINIPCIE03A.
