Bratislava, Slovakia and New Taipei City, Taiwan, May 11, 2021-Lanner Electronics, a leading uCPE Whitebox Solutions™ provider, today announced that the company has established a partnership with, a research & development software company focused on network technologies and software prototyping, to successfully validate StoneWork all-in-one Cloud Native Functions (CNF) solution on Lanner’s NCA-1515 uCPE Platforms.

Leveraging Lanner’s Leap™ Remote Evaluation Program, has successfully conducted interop testing of the latest StoneWork CNF 21.01 portfolio, including IPv4/v6 router, L2 bridge/switch, VPN gateway and firewall, deployed on Lanner Whitebox Box NCA-1515 appliance in a cloud native method. StoneWork on uCPE

Customer Premise Equipment, with its virtual equivalent – vCPE, is a term used for network equipment, deployed on a customer’s premises, performing a specific task. Traditional CPEs require specific hardware to run a specific function, while virtualized CPEs enable the usage of whitebox platforms to run the VNFs, or Virtualized Network Functions. Equipment such as a VPN, routers, firewall, or NAT64 / NAT464, are deployed on either dedicated hardware or commodity hardware when virtualized.

StoneWork CNFs from can be deployed as vCPEor CPE, depending on the configuration and customer’s needs. “We managed to create an integrated, modular solution, with a possible virtual and hardware deployment.” said Miroslav Mikluš, Chief Product Officer at, “A growing platform ecosystem is the key enabler for new deployment options. StoneWork’s modular architecture allows us to use each CNF as a standalone network function, or combined together, deployed in a cloud or on whitebox hardware.

Lanner uCPE Platform and Remote Evaluation Program

The Lanner NCA-1515 uCPE platform delivers the broadest range of industry-leading compute and networking options to support the critical uCPE use cases we deliver to our customers. NCA-1515 is powered by Intel Atom® C3000 Series 2-16 Cores CPU, up to 64 GB RAM, 4~6 GbE, 2x SFP, and Intel® QAT supported on all ports. It hosts up to 3 wireless modules via 6 antennas for enhanced LTE/Wi-Fi connectivity. Combined with StoneWork solution, multiple cloud-network functions can run on a single NCA-1515 appliance, efficiently and cost-effectively delivering virtualized networking and security applications to the managed service providers.

Due to COVID-19, testing and evaluation of software and hardware have become increasingly time-consuming. To accelerate the time-to-market of customer’s solution deployment, Lanner provides a Remote Evaluation Program, which allows solution providers to remotely upload their OS or any application on Lanner’s network appliances. With the remote access method, solution providers can virtually evaluate performance and receive real-time results. Customers can safeguard their intellectual property with dedicated control plane in secure testing networks with enterprise-grade firewall.
