Applications Virtualization for Future Intelligent Bus

The rising adoption of electric buses in urban areas is observed worldwide, and the electrification of public transportations makes it seamless integrated with electronic devices including electronic payment system, passenger information systems, video surveillance system, fleet management system and some safety mechanisms.. However, most of the electric buses are relying on dedicated equipments from various vendors and system integrators to add and run more applications. This has rapidly accumulated the OPEX and CAPEX for management and maintenance. Therefore, they are seeking an integrated solution.

To address this challenge in electric bus, Lanner has developed a sophisticated in-vehicle computer, not only offering superior compute, but also establishing the service-level architecture by using the latest virtualization technology. This high-compute platform is capable of integrating vertical application software in vehicle settings.

Live Demonstration

At ITS World Congress 2019, Lanner presented in-vehicle workload consolidation solution and will demonstrate the proof-of-concept of software-hardware decoupling in real-world application consolidation. This next-generation in-vehicle solution is designed to help asset owners reduce their hardware investments and simplify system maintenance and managements.

Consolidating In-Vehicle Applications

In-Vehicle Computer V6S

Lanner’s in-vehicle edge computer, V6S, is designed to run multiple vertical applications in in various vehicles. V6S is the next-generation rugged, fanless vehicle computer to support surveillance NVR, fleet management and other transportation applications. V6S, being the robust vehicle edge computer, can operate under wide temperature range (-20~60°C), indicating its excellent reliability in harsh environment.
