Lanner to Present All-New High Performance Network Appliances for uCPE, SD-WAN and Mobile Edge Computing at Interop Tokyo 2019

With the increasing acceleration in the network transformation from closed architecture towards the Whitebox Solutions and Network Function Virtualization, SDN/NFV solutions have become critical in the deployment of 5G edge computing. Being the experts in supplying reliable hardware solutions for network service providers and telecom equipment manufacturers, Lanner will be showcasing its latest solutions for vCPE, SD-WAN and MEC at Booth #5Y16, Interop Tokyo 2019 on June 12th to 14th.

Tunnel-free SD-WAN Solution with Lanner uCPE and 128T Networking Platform

Lanner and 128 Technology have partnered to bring optimized SD-WAN solutions to deliver a transport agnostic solution – combining MPLS and VPN tunnels, 4G LTE, and WiFi failover — and legacy ATM T1 services into a single uCPE platform. The pre-validated solutions address latency issues prevalent in many SD-WAN deployments. Based on Secure Vector Routing (SVR), this cutting-edge solution includes a session-oriented, application-aware universal CPE platform with native load balancing and security, a strong foundation for all VNF deployments.

Ultra-low Latency Video Content Delivery with High Performance MEC Platform

MEC refers to the ability to perform critical core network functions, covering the compute, storage and connectivity, at the network edge so that latency is substantially reduced when traffic can be routed to the edge first instead of to the cloud directly. This helps shorten the data transfer tunnel and enhance the traffic management to enable smooth data-intensive content delivery experience like surveillance and UHD video streaming.

At Interop Tokyo 2019, Lanner will demonstrate how to use MEC server deployed at the edge to boost Content Delivery Network efficiency in ultra-low latency 5G networks. In our test, Lanner MEC platform NCA-6210 (Powered by Intel Xeon Scalable processors) showcases its capability in the smooth HD video playback by reducing the video frame loss and image jitter, compared to the video sever host in cloud, by nearly 98% and 67%. The test results provide benefits of MEC architecture in UHD video streaming to improve user experience and serviceability in future 5G ultra broadband networks.
