Taipei – (PR) – Lanner Electronics Inc, (TAIEX 6245)- a global leader in network appliance and communication hardware, is pleased to announce that Sven Freudenfeld has joined Lanner as the CTO (Chief Technology Officer) of our Telecom Applications Business Unit. Sven possesses 30 years of experience in telecommunications, network computing, product management and business development, and his long-established expertise is expected to be an essential asset for Lanner’s strategy in the telecom sector

Prior to assuming this position in Lanner, Sven had taken several managerial positions in global business developments for Noviflow, LEI Technology (a subsidiary of Lanner in Canada) and Kontron, and had greatly contributed in the cloud, media and telecom market segments. He was fundamental in accelerating the adoption for P4 and OpenFlow based packet forwarding technology, virtual CPE/SD-WAN, and Advanced Telecommunication Computing Architecture (ATCA) technology in the service provider market. Prior to his tenure at Kontron, Sven had held several engineering positions: Network Engineering at Deutsche Telekom, System Architect at Abewa GMBH, Systems Engineering at Nortel and Test Engineering at Sanmina-SCI.

“As many ISV (independent software vendor) and service providers are looking at outsourcing and offloading hardware, Sven has been instrumental in leading our 5G/MEC and other SDN/NFV use cases and working with sales partners for appliance business development. Sven’s strong technical background and years of hands-on experience in the networking and telecommunication fields offers substantial and unique resources for our customers and sales partners to solve the architectural challenges in the deployments of SDN and NFVi” – Jeans Tseng, General Manager of the Lanner Telecommunication Applications Business Unit.

Sven joined Lanner at the moment when major players in the communications industry are making large-scale initiatives towards their SDN/NFV goals. His extensive background in Telecommunications and SDN/NFV make him a great fit for his new role at Lanner.

“For the past ten years I have seen the telecom network transformation taking place, and it’s now becoming a reality. In this dynamic industry, the business is driven by new ideas and innovations. Lanner has been on this direction with a portfolio optimized for network transformation to an NFV&SDN world. It couldn’t come at a better time than now, with NFV&SDN development close to being finalized. This will be a great time to adequately situate Lanner’s network computing division within the movement,” said Sven Freudenfeld, CTO of Lanner’s Telecom Application Business Unit.
