Taipei, November 21, 2019 – Lanner Electronics Inc., a global leader in customized x86 industrial computing hardware manufacturing and ODM/OEM services, has adopted Sierra Wireless EM series solutions to launch their LTE modules in PGN form factors, PGN-300 and PGN-600 to accelerate the deployment time for OEM customers.
To address the requirements and the challenges for customers in Private LTE deployments, pre-certification with commercial cellular protocols such as PTCRB and Private LTE networks like FirstNet™ and CBRS (Citizens Broadband Radio Service) are critical elements to realize IoT or IIoT applications. On the other hand, Lanner has taken the consideration of the performance, reliability and security in LTE connectivity by launching internally embedded PGN modular solutions instead of external devices.
The recently launched PGN-300 and PGN-600 modularized 4G/LTE modem cards are powered by Sierra Wireless EM series solutions and pre-certified with PTCRB and mainstream Private LTE protocols such as FirstNet™ and CBRS (Citizens Broadband Radio Service), which are critical elements for today’s IoT or IIoT applications. The PGN-300 is powered by Sierra Wireless EM7455 with support of global LTE connectivity, while PGN-600 is designed with Sierra Wireless EM7511 to support not only LTE, but also Private LTE like CBRS and FirstNet™. Both PGN modular solutions have been pre-certified by PTCRB, AT&T and Verizon (certification with the latter is in progress) to enable compliance and shorten the deployment process.
“Sierra solutions help us eliminate the timely effort for certification so that we can help our OEM customers accelerate the time-to-market process”, said Geoffrey Egger, VP and GM of IoT Business Unit of Lanner. “In fact, the wide protocol support by Sierra Wireless solutions reduces the certification costs and efforts to meet various protocols in different regions and for different carriers and operators. Lastly, our modular designs are future-proof to meet the upcoming network specifications”. To learn more, please download case study from Sierra Wireless:
