[October 10, 2016] –Lanner Electronics (TAIEX 6245), a global leader in SDN/NFV network appliances, announced its collaboration with Wind River, to ensure that Lanner’s network appliances are optimized for carrier-grade NFV deployment and help accelerate time-to-market for service providers and telecom equipment manufacturers (TEMs).
Lanner’s NFV-ready platforms have undergone a comprehensive testing and validation process with the Wind River Titanium Server NFV infrastructure (NFVI) software solution. The validation process was conducted as part of the Wind River Titanium Cloud ecosystem program dedicated to accelerate the time-to-deployment of carrier-grade NFV solutions. Through the validation and pre-integration of industry-leading NFV ready hardware and software, Lanner is able to deliver carrier-grade network platforms optimized for NFV deployment, and service providers and TEMs can also be confident in selecting validated vendors in the ecosystem knowing that they are pre-validated with Titanium Server and ready for rapid service deployment.
To ensure carrier-grade up-time and the high levels of reliability mandated by telecom networks, Lanner’s NFV ready, NEBS compliant, and modular-design HTCA-6000 series feature multiple CPU blades, swappable network I/O blades, high-speed switching capability and full redundant design. HTCA-6000 series support up to 6 CPU blades, each of them designed with dual Intel® Xeon® processor E5-2690 v3/v4 CPUs (24 cores per blade, a total of 144 cores across 6 blades) and 16x DDR4 R-DIMMs. The swappable network I/O blade can be configured with 1/10/40/100 GbE network ports in an array of QSFP, SFP+ or copper combinations. With built-in BCM switch fabric, inter-communications between each CPU blade can achieve a bandwidth beyond 480 Gbps.
Also available as an NFV-ready platform, Lanner FW-8896 is a 2U high-performance network appliance empowered by dual Intel Xeon processor E5-2600 v3/v4 series CPU. FW-8896 is designed with a total of 8 NIC module slots, each equipped with a default 8-port GbE copper module. FW-8896 offers boundless connectivity and supports a maximum of 64 RJ-45 GbE ports using the optional module configurations.
Wind River Titanium Server is a carrier grade NFV software infrastructure solution designed to meet the stringent “always on” requirements by the telecom industry. Titanium Server is based on open software standards including carrier grade Wind River Linux, real-time Kernel-based Virtual Machine (KVM), carrier grade plug-in for OpenStack®, Data Plane Development Kit (DPDK), and accelerated virtual switching, all of which optimized for Intel architecture platforms.
