The year of 2018 had been the year of SD-WAN. Through the formation of multiple partnerships, we have witnessed the first commercialization of SD-WAN services with 128 Technology and ADVA Optical Networking, and have launched the online store along with Arrow Electronics for zero-touch provisioning fulfillment. We have also witnessed the wide adoption of our vCPE/uCPE white-box hardware by WAN optimization vendors, either industry leaders or software startups, to simplify deployment efforts and costs.
The year of 2018 has also been a milestone for our efforts in developing state-of-the-art vCPE/uCPE solutions. According to the Garner’s latest report on WAN edge infrastructure, 55% of leading companies in the report use Lanner vCPE/uPCE servers for their service deployment. Lanner’s latest NCA-4020 is also the first vCPE platform verified by Intel® Select Solution for uCPE for Accelerated SD-WAN Deployment.
Network transformation is not only happening in the IT network. We have seen open, virtualized, and workload-consolidated network architectures deployed in the OT vertical market as well. For instance, we have worked with our customers to consolidate networking devices for maritime communications. We have also demonstrated our expertise in hyper-converged edge servers to enable mobile edge computing for intelligent taxi fleets, and in factory workload consolidation covering machine vision, motion control and A.I. for intelligent manufacturing.
Next year we can foresee the emergence of 5G PoC. Driven by this anticipation, we have worked with our partners to demonstrate how they can leverage hyper converged network appliances to build up 5G-enabled applications like Cloud-RAN, smart stadium or AR/VR.
