Lanner to Showcase Certified Train Communication Gateway and Surveillance Platforms at APTA Rail Conference

Mass Transit Authorities around the world are looking to leverage improved wireless infrastructures and IoT technologies to make their operation more cost-efficient as well as secure and enjoyable for the commuters. Operational efficiency not only affects economy of thousands of people including the government but also contributes positively towards reducing pollution. Integrated train communication systems are becoming popular as they have improved onboard and edge-to-control center communication tremendously and are making train commuters more secure and connected while on the move.

At APTA Rail Conference 2019, Lanner will present its rugged Rolling Stock Computers that are EN-50155 and EN-45545 certified, and are customizable for OEM’s to deploy their proprietary applications and go to market with a complete solution under their brand.

Onboard and Wayside solution developers are welcome to stop by Lanner’s Booth #620 to check out our latest hardware and learn about our OEM hardware manufacturing services.

R6S – Train NVR with 10 POE Ports

Designed for mobile surveillance, the new R6S series offers 1 x GbE RJ45 ports plus 10 x IEEE 802.3af standard PoE ports for IP camera or wireless access point connection, and one removable 2.5” HDD/SSD drive bay for dual storage of recorded footages. For wireless connectivity, R6S is internally built with 3 x full-sized Mini-PCIe with SIM card reader (1 for Wi-Fi, 2 for 4G LTE) simultaneous operation and GPS/GLONASS onboard. This is ideal for Internet access, infotainment and passenger information systems.

R8S – Train NVR with 10 POE Ports

Built for rolling stock settings, R8S has gone through extensive vibration and shock testing. It has been approved by EN50155 standard as a fanless rackmount rolling stock computer. R8S not only features high-performance Intel “Kaby Lake” CPU , but also boasts an abundance of I/O and internal expansion capabilities including DDR4 technology, 16 x M12 PoE ports, 4 x swappable 2.5″ drive bays, 2 COM ports, 2 DVI-D ports, USB 3.0 and GPIO ports, making it perfect for railway control, monitoring, infotainment and video surveillance.

Wayside ITS Application hardware

Wayside Machine Vision, Track monitoring or ground communication applications require high compute power in a rugged form factor. Lanner offers a range of wide temperature rugged computers with Intel CPU’s to deploy compute intensive applications on the wayside. Lanner products also offer pre-certified LTE modules to enable secure and reliable remote communication over cellular networks.
