Applications:

MES streamlining for Factory Floors

Thin client computing and the hardware appliances that can be customized and tailored for all Industrial Automation applications have become ubiquitous for automation in most of today’s factory production floors.

Hardware appliances for deployment in Industry 4.0 applications should offer the required computing performance, power efficiency and wireless connectivity in order to function as a communication pathway for the many devices within factory networks.

Lanner’s LEC-7230L hardware solution features a compact, fanless and dustproof design, powered by Intel® Celeron® Bay Trail, built for a wide range of deployments in factory automation scenarios such as machine vision, vision control, HMI/SCADA and more . The LEC-7230L features include VGA and HDMI video-out, dual serial COM, dual Ethernet, USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 ports as well as a mini-PCIe with SIM card reader.

Multi-vision Inspection Systems for Enhanced Production

Multi-vision inspection tasks requiring precise and repetitive verification and testing in high speed must implement machine vision systems using cameras, computers and software algorithms.

Successful implementation of machine vision inspection for all production processes requires software algorithms compilation and system hardware integration. The hardware used must provide reliability, high-performance, flexibility, a fast GbE interface and rugged encasing due the demanding environments within factory and production floors.

Lanner’s LEC-7070 series’ fanless and dustproof compact design provides the suitable hardware on which inspection systems could be built. It is a high-performance IPC, running on Intel® Core™ i3/i7 or Celeron® processor, offering industrial-grade I/O functions, imaging-capturing and network communication capabilities. The LEC-7070 features dual 10/100/1000Mbps autosensing LAN ports, a built-in SIM card reader for wireless/3G connections and flexible I/O interface including VGA and HDMI video-out ports, 4 USB ports, 1 DIO port and two COM ports for simplifying hardware integration.

Furthermore, LEC-7070 is operable under extreme temperatures ranging from minus 20°C to 50°C, positioning it as the ideal deployment for multi-camera machine vision applications.

Security Measures for Threat Prevention and Management

Implementation of physical security measures and surveillance analytics is intended to facilitate efficient workforce management and optimize operational decisions by providing real-time intelligence that is critical for live detection of safety and security events.

Providing real-time intelligence will require integration of hardware that is capable of connecting to multiple devices such as cameras, security sensors, alarms, and control panels as well as the ability of processing large number of requests for security video and data.

Lanner’s LEC-7001 is proven to be a reliable and cost-effective platform, RISC-based running on Freescale’s i.MX 6 Series processor, it offers powerful yet energy-efficient performance for smooth Full HD video playback. The LEC-7001’s HDMI port enables video decoding at 1920x1080P resolution at 60fps for crisp clear video footage. What’s more, the LEC-7001’s compact size, fanless design with various mounting options make it a flexible and high-availability solution, especially for deployment in settings with space is limited.
