Superior Hybrid Architecture x86 + Switch Enables Ultra Low Latency Communication and MEC

Multi-access edge computing (MEC) is no doubt one of the key foundations of future 5G network. In fact, MEC has already driven a paradigm shift in how telecommunication service and network computing are provided to users.

MEC represents the concept to perform core network functions, by aggregating compute, storage and analytics for the various edge computing gateways. In short, make edge gateways “smart” so that traffic can be routed to the edge where user traffics are generated, instead of the cloud. MEC indicates a distributed networking architecture to minimize the latency observed in a centralized cloud infrastructure. With Hybrid Architecture of x86 and switching hardware, MEC can be enabled to run 5G user applications.

The advantage of HybridTCA

● Enable fast time to market

Pre-validated by Wind River Titanium Cloud

● Maximum network throughput of 2U/4U/6U

HLM-1030(Tomahawk) + HMB-1000 => HLM-1030 I/O can reach to 920Gb x2 = 1840Gbps maximum throughput.

2U(HTCA-6200): 80Gbps x 4 = 320Gbps

4U(HTCA-6400): 80Gbps x 8 = 640Gbps

6U(HTCA-6600): 80Gbps x 12 = 960Gbps

● Support IEEE 1588 Expansion Module

● Multiple Compute Blades

● Hot swappable support

Computing blades, hard drives, fans and power supplies support hot swappable field replacement.

● Top of rack switch and Server grade Multiple Intel Xeon accelerate MEC and 5G network deployment.
