Lanner Introduces the First 100GbE NIC Module N2S-RRC01 to Pass IEEE Conformance Test in the Market

 

The increasing number of intensive network applications in recent years has led to signs of limitations on current bandwidth and therefore, the 100GbE standard was introduced to significantly scale the bandwidth up. To address the demand for accelerated deployment, Lanner proudly introduced the first 100GbE Ethernet module, N2S-RRC01, to pass the IEEE Conformance Test in the market. This compatibility means the module is drop-in interoperable for deployment ease.

Lanner’s N2S-RRC01 is the first 100GbE NIC module to pass IEEE Conformance Test in the market. The module has passed 33 test items of detailed test procedures, such as pre/post cursor ratio, coefficient steps, signal noise and distortion, and jitter lanes. The pass of the conformance test proves Lanner’s development capability for time-to-market interoperability in network security solutions.

N2S-RRC01 is the first module in the market empowered by Intel® Ethernet multi-host controller FM10420 (formerly Red Rock Canyon) and features 2 x 100G QSFP28 optical transceivers. In terms of physical characteristics, the module is built in double width N2S form factor and adopts dual PCIe Gen3 x8 gold fingers. Lanner’s N2S-RRC01 is designed for bandwidth intensive server platforms to improve networking application performance while offloading CPU utilization.

Currently, N2S-RRC01 is compatible with Lanner’s FW-8896, the FW-8894 and the NCA-5510.
